Degree of Wear on Buildings

The degree of wear on buildings is an indicator of the damage to the basic structure of an existing building. It can be determined with the help of the so-called depth of engagement. In this way comparisons of very heterogenous portfolios are also possible. Because the depth of engagement is a dimensionless index, while the costs per square meter do not provide a reliable basis. It is calculated from the actual and theoretically maximally possible maintenance costs. Thus benchmarks and rankings can also be created for even completely different building types.
