In the framework of stocktaking of real estate with the EPIQR process, the individual constructional components of an existing building do not have to be considered separately. They are summarized into different elements. To provide however also for the particularities of old buildings, these are divided into subcategories, so-called element types. In this way, structural differences can be also accounted for. Also only the targeted collection and evaluation of the most expensive elements takes place according to their structural condition. Thus results can be reached comparatively quickly.
